3. Personal Requirements for the job holder


3.1 A high standard of spoken and written English and in particular the skill to communicate with clarity and brevity.


3.2 An ability to vary your telephone manner to deal appropriately with a wide range of customers.


 3.3 You will be a self-starter with a methodical approach to work and the ability to work with minimum supervision. There may be periods when you will be the only person in the office.


3.4 You will be comfortable with computers, standard office software, use of databases, e-mail and the internet.  


3.5 Experience of working in technical and/or customer support at a level which needs personal initiative is desirable.


3.6 Ideally, but not essentially, you will have experience of managing networks in an education environment.


3.7 A longer career history involving IT, administration and employment in other fields, particularly education, would be welcome.
